With less than a month left in 2025, the 9th Diversity Workshop was held on Monday, December 8th, at 3:00 PM in the Yangduseok Hall on the 3rd floor of the SNU Library's Kwanjeong Building. Diversity representatives from 45 campus institutions and officials from key partner organizations are invited to the workshop each December to share about their diversity-promotion activities over the preceding year and see awards presented to outstanding institutions. This year’s event was particularly notable because of the participation of the entire steering committee for the Korea Diversity Committee (KDC), including Chair Park Jeong-hee.
After giving opening remarks, Diversity Council Chair Min Eun-gi introduced all attendees, in order, from SNU’s main administration, colleges, support/affiliated facilities, major partner organizations, and external organizations. She then gave an overview of the Diversity Council’s key activities this year, showing videos of the Cultural Diversity Week event and the spring semester of the student internship program. Next, spring-semester interns Naranger and Yoo Da-eun presented on the achievements of their self-led activities teams, CareU and Silkroad Sisters teams, which has been named as the semester’s outstanding activities teams.
Diversity Council Vice Chair Yun Seokhwa then summarized the diversity promotion case studies submitted by 32 SNU institutions, and announced that the College of Human Ecology and the College of Medicine had been selected as this year's outstanding institutions. This was followed by a presentation by Jeon Jae-hoon, Vice Dean for Student Affairs of the College of Human Ecology, a video presentation by Na-young Kim, chair of the College of Medicine's Diversity Council, and the awarding of small gift certificate to the selected institutions.
Next, there was a feedback and suggestions session, during which it was suggested that the university should produce an English-language guide to the coursework completion process for graduate students. The workshop concluded with a raffle, with 20 attendees receiving gift-wrapped books selected from among the 30 winning entries in the 2025 Diversity Book & Film Recommendation Contest.
