"Sweet Talk" Between Taste Cells Revealed
Led by Prof. Myunghwan Choi from the Department of Biological Sciences, SNU researchers discovered that glia-like taste cells, previously thought to be passive, actively communicate with sweet-sensing cells on the tongue to fine-tune sweetness perception. The findings were published in Cell.
